My Daily Face Routine
I wanted to touch on what my daily face routine is. First, I have oily skin, so this is tailored to my skin, yours may differ but the concepts will be similar. With dryer skin, you may find that you may not want a face scrub with an exfoliant and you will end up using a bit more product due to absorption.
There are 2 products I enjoy and you can search around for what is best for you.
Nivea Men’s Moisturizing Face Wash is an affordable daily wash that does not include any exfoliant.
The other I really enjoy is Brickell’s Face Wash. It smells wonderful and it deep cleans your skin. Activated Charcoal products have become more popular recently. The Activated Charcoal helps pull dirt from pores and deep cleans your face.
In the morning, I wash my face thoroughly to remove all the dirt and oil from the night. I then use a simple day serum or an all-purpose moisturizer.
I have used one of the following after I cleanse my face.
I apply a very small amount. Enough to moisture but not so much as to clog my pores or make my face greasy.
Washing my face
My Nighttime routine is a little more involved. I wash my face in the shower after I am finished with work. I let my face dry for a few hours with nothing on it. I like to give my face a few hours to re-adjust and get some air. Applying a lot of product throughout the day is a recipe for disaster for me because it clogs my pores and I break out.
Before bed, I use a face scrub to clean my face before I put my night cream on.
I prefer Nivea Men’s Deep Cleaning Face Scrub. It has a light exfoliant to remove dead and dry skin. The exfoliant is fine grain and doesn’t scuff up my skin.
My other go-to recently has been Brickell’s Face Scrub. The exfoliant is much finer than Nivea and it smells great.
I use a variety of products at night depending what I have in my stock. Recently I started getting Birchbox Men. I got a sample of CW Beggs Anti Wrinkle Defense Moisturizer, which I trade off between the Brickell Anti-Aging cream.
As for Eye Cream, I use my Brickell Eye Balm which was included in their sample kit.
I have decided to order Brickell’s Sample Kit as well to try it out. Their face routine creams and balms do some really good work. If you are looking for a sold product that produces near immediate results, Brickell is the way to go. It’s a little more expensive and there are alternatives, but that is for another post.
After I wash my face, I use eye balm and an Anti-Aging cream on my face.
This is my routine and it may work well for you. I have oily skin so I have to work around that. My suggestion is to use a moisturizer with an SPF in it for the mornings and to maintain your routine for at least a week if you are looking to see results. With the routine I developed, I have a noticeable improvement in my skin. Its cleaner, softer, and smoother.
I am planning on doing a comparison post between some of these products. Brickell is a great product line, but it’s not very easy on your wallet.
